About Us

Jill Klancke, J.D. -Jill completed her undergraduate work at the University of Minnesota, with a degree in Physical Anthropology. She graduated from Denver University School of Law in 1982, where she received her Juris Doctorate. She has always worked in the area of real estate, first clerking for a real estate law firm in Boulder while in law school and then, after graduation, moving to a Denver law firm in 1982. In 1987 Jill and David Cook formed the law firm of KLANCKE & COOK.

Jill serves as the real estate attorney for the firm, as well as Managing Partner. The firm, overall, practices in the areas of wills, trusts, tax planning, probate, business matters and real estate. Over the years Jill has been active in Business and Professional Women (awarded Young Careerist), DTC Women’s Leads Club (Director), and her home church. Jill has served as an instructor at Aurora Community College, Arapahoe Community College, and Denver Paralegal Institute and has a long history of public speaking on varied topics.

Jill has 3 children, 2 dogs, seven fish, a water frog, bird and a husband.

 

 

David M. Cook- David began practicing law in Missouri in 1974 after graduating from Washington University in St. Louis. A few years into his practice, David returned to Washington University and obtained a Masters of Law in Tax. In 1982 he relocated to Paonia, Colorado where he was the owner, publisher and chief bottle washer of a newspaper called The North Fork Times. He also started practicing law in Delta County, Colorado at that time. David later moved to Denver and, after establishing the tax department of a mid size law firm, he opened his own practice in Denver. His firm emphasizes wills, trusts, tax planning, probate, business formation and advice, and real estate.

The slogan of Klancke & Cook is, “Changing the Way You View Attorneys” and David strives to make sure the slogan stays true for each person he works with. His goal is to provide an experience that is amiable, fair, and productive. He chooses to treat every client just as he would want to be treated.

David is active with a number of local non-profit and charitable organizations and serves on the national board of directors for Bethesda Lutheran Communities, which operates group homes and provides assistance for the developmentally disabled. David is an instructor at Arapahoe Community College in its adult education program and speaks throughout the front range on estate planning/family relationship issues. David is close to finishing his first book titled Games Lawyers Play and has published a small work titled 52 Legal Tips You Can’t Live Without.

David and his wife have been married for over 20 years and have three daughters.
